Alauda Negra es un proyecto editorial creado por X. Lois Gutiérrez Faílde en 2019 desde Sarria, capital de una comarca rural del interior de Galicia (España). Alauda Negra fue concebida para difundir y visibilizar toda una serie de propuestas que, por su escala o intención, tienen como soporte ideal la edición en papel a modo de plaquette, affiche, fotozine o fotolibro. Ostenta orgullosamente una vocación periférica y atiende, preferentemente, a lxs autorxs que producen en/o desde Galicia con el afán de tejer circuitos y redes de producción y distribución en los espacios intermedios y subalternos.
Alauda Negra is a publishing project created by X. Lois Gutiérrez Faílde in 2019 in Sarria, the capital of a rural region in inland Galicia (Spain). Alauda Negra was conceived to disseminate and give visibility to a wide range of projects which, by their scale or intention, find their ideal form in print publishing as «plaquettes», «affiches», photozines, or photobooks. It proudly embraces a peripheral vocation and focuses primarily on authors working in and/or from Galicia, with the aim of weaving circuits and networks of production and distribution in intermediate and subaltern spaces.
MAN. del colectivo Cadela Negra (Lois Cid y Toni Cortés) es la publicación más reciente de nuestra editorial. Fue la obra ganadora del III Premio Editorial de Fotografía Documental Gallega, organizado por el FFoco Festival da Fotografía A Coruña en 2023.
MAN. es, ante todo, un libro de iniciación a la figura de Manfred Gnädinger. Puede concebirse como un homenaje rico y vibrante al legado difuso de este creador total que vivió durante décadas como artista eremita en Camelle (Costa da Morte, Galicia) en la mirada y el cuerpo del colectivo Cadela Negra, formado por Lois Cid y Antonio Cortés. En los dos últimos años, estos dos autores han viajado frecuentemente a Camelle (Costa da Morte, Galicia) en un intento de componer la huella visual del Alemán de Camelle.
Veinte años después de su muerte, los autores del libro fotografiaron sus cuadernos, las rocas pintadas, las huellas de su paseo, el jardín escultórico que Manfred realizó en el muelle, el mar; su mar. Las imágenes de este libro componen un friso en torno a la experiencia con el territorio y con la memoria misma de la figura del Hombre. Ya sean fórmulas de invocación, relatos elegíacos o evidencia forense que rodea la vida y obra de este artista inefable, este libro nos invita a su misterio y a la cautivadora historia de su formación como mito secreto de la cultura artística gallega.
«MAN.» by the collective «Cadela Negra»(Lois Cid and Toni Cortés) is the most recent publication from our editorial. It was the winning work of the III Galician Documentary Photography Editorial Award, organized by the FFoco Festival da Fotografía A Coruña in 2023.
«MAN.» is primarily an introduction to the figure of Manfred Gnädinger. It can be understood as a rich and vibrant tribute to the diffuse legacy of this total creator, who lived for decades as a hermit artist in Camelle (Costa da Morte, Galicia), seen through the eyes and lens of the collective Cadela Negra. Over the past two years, Lois Cid and Antonio Cortés have frequently traveled to Camelle in an attempt to compose the visual imprint of the «German of Camelle».
Twenty years after his death, the authors photographed his notebooks, painted rocks, traces of his walks, the sculptural garden Manfred created on the pier, and the sea—his sea. The images in this book form a frieze around the experience of the territory and the memory of the man himself. Whether through invocatory formulas, elegiac narratives, or forensic evidence surrounding the life and work of this ineffable artist, this book invites readers into his mystery and into the captivating story of his formation as a secret myth of Galician artistic culture.
