Pepitas es una editorial —independiente y cuidadosa— con más de cuatrocientos títulos a sus espaldas y 27 años de trayectoria que está abriendo las ventanas de una casa que llevaba demasiado tiempo sin ventilar: la crítica social, radical y sincera. Y, a grandes rasgos, tiene tres líneas de trabajo: el ensayo (incluidos ahí los documentos de la guerra social), la narrativa (atendiendo además a las vidas de individuos siempre únicos e irrepetibles) y el libro ilustrado (cómic, álbum, etc… de nuevas voces y rescate de clásicos).
Hay otras líneas, evidentemente, pero será el lector quien las tenga que reconocer.
Pepitas is an independent and meticulous publishing house with over four hundred titles and 27 years of experience, opening the windows of a house that had long gone unventilated: social, radical, and sincere critique. Broadly speaking, it works along three main lines: essays (including documents on social struggles), narrative (focusing on the lives of individuals, always unique and unrepeatable), and illustrated books (comics, albums, etc., featuring new voices and the revival of classics).
There are, of course, other lines of work, but it is up to the reader to discover them.
Internacional Letrista
De los letristas a los situacionistas. Textos colectivos (1953-1956)
En este libro, son los propios letristas quienes cuentan lo que es el letrismo.
O dicho de forma más precisa, los textos aquí reunidos presentan el letrismo a través de su historia y de sus acciones, visto y vivido por la fracción más decidida a llevar la agitación mucho más allá del dominio separado del arte.
Partidarios de una suerte de comunismo literario que incluía el desvío —el plagio es necesario, está implícito en el progreso; la poesía debe ser hecha por todos—, lógicamente los letristas internacionalistas practican la escritura colectiva.
Tal es el caso de los textos aquí reunidos, que datan de 1953, 1955 y 1956. ¿Por qué el letrismo? se publicó en septiembre de 1955; Rostros de la vanguardia (1953) e Historia de la Internacional Letrista (1956) habían permanecido inéditos hasta 2010.

In this book, it is the Lettrists themselves who explain what Lettrism is.
Or, more precisely, the texts collected here present Lettrism through its history and its actions, as seen and experienced by the faction most determined to push agitation far beyond the separate domain of art.
Advocates of a kind of literary communism that included détournement —plagiarism is necessary, it is implied in progress; poetry must be made by everyone—, the internationalist Lettrists logically practiced collective writing.
Such is the case of the texts gathered here, dating from 1953, 1955, and 1956. «¿Por qué el letrismo?» was published in September 1955; «Rostros de la vanguardia» (1953) and «Historia de la Internacional Letrista» (1956) remained unpublished until 2010.
