En este 2025 se celebran los 100 años del Primer Manifiesto Surrealista, de la revista The New Yorker, del Mein Kampf y de El gran Gatsby. Se cumplen 75 años de Peanuts y de El guardián entre el centeno. Y hacen 50 años Saturday Night Live y el primer número del fanzine Punk.
Con un espíritu situado en un punto intermedio de todas estas cosas, nació hace 25 años el fanzine Bang!, cuyos tres primeros aparecen recopilados en este libro, los tres números realizados por el equipo primigenio, cuya extraña heterogeneidad en los contenidos y humor absurdo en el tono, dio fruto a un fanzine único. Un fanzine donde lo mismo aparecía un grupo punk desconocido que un poema, una entrevista a un autor de cómic, una sección de parecidos asombrosos o repasaba la vida de un olvidado director de cine. A los tres números aquí incluídos, publicados entre el 2000 y el 2002, les seguirían otros tres. El resto es historia: fortuna, fama y gloria.

In 2025, we celebrate 100 years since the publication of the «First Surrealist Manifesto», «The New Yorker» magazine, «Mein Kampf», and «The Great Gatsby». It’s also the 75th anniversary of «Peanuts» and «The Catcher in the Rye», and 50 years since «Saturday Night Live» first aired and the first issue of «Punk» fanzine hit the streets.
With a spirit located somewhere in between all of these cultural landmarks, the fanzine «Bang!» was born 25 years ago. This book brings together its first three issues —created by the original team— whose peculiar mix of content and absurd humor resulted in a unique publication. A fanzine where you could just as easily find an unknown punk band as a poem, an interview with a comic book author, a look-alike section, or a profile of a forgotten film director. These three issues, published between 2000 and 2002, were followed by three more. The rest is history: fortune, fame, and glory.
