Gabinete Paratextual
El Gabinete Paratextual es un proyecto de edición que considera el papel de cada uno de los intervinientes del proceso de producción como un problema creativo. Se imagina el acto de editar a través de una relación fluida entre forma y contenido, y como un espacio compartido entre editores, diseñadores, traductores, escritores, revisores, ilustradores, y fotógrafos. Los métodos de producción y acabado son encuadrados como argumento activo de cada número editado y se publica casi siempre sin tirada fija, pensando la reedición como un fenómeno de reescritura y rediseño continuo.
El Gabinete Paratextual inició actividad en 2017 de la mano de Rui Silva y desarrolla ediciones según la urgencia necesaria, y asume la duración y el tiempo como elemento activo del proceso de edición.
The Paratextual Cabinet is a publishing project that regards the role of each participant in the production process as a creative challenge. It envisions the act of editing through a fluid relationship between form and content, and as a shared space among editors, designers, translators, writers, proofreaders, illustrators, and photographers. Production and finishing methods are framed as an active argument for each edited issue, which is almost always published without a fixed print run, conceiving re-edition as a process of continuous rewriting and redesign.
The Paratextual Cabinet began its activity in 2017 under the guidance of Rui Silva and develops editions according to the necessary urgency, embracing duration and time as active elements of the editorial process.
