Aunque no lo parezca Fracaso Books no quiere ser una editorial. Es solo el paraguas que envuelve una serie de libros autoeditados y financiados a través de campañas de crowdfunding. Pretende generar productos personales al margen de los intereses y estilos editoriales. Nos interesan los mecanismos de investigación que exploren las relaciones entre la imagen y la palabra. También la historia, el cine, la ciencia ficción y el humor.
Although it may not seem so, Fracaso Books does not aim to be a traditional publisher. It is simply the umbrella under which a series of self-published books are produced and funded through crowdfunding campaigns. Its purpose is to create personal projects independent of editorial interests and styles. We are interested in research mechanisms that explore the relationships between image and text, as well as in history, cinema, science fiction, and humor.

La vida del fotógrafo Paco Gómez cambió una tarde de primavera de 2003 cuando descubrió, en una calle del madrileño barrio de Malasaña, una colección de fotografías extraordinarias. ¿Quiénes eran los protagonistas de aquellas imágenes inquietantes y extrañas? ¿Por qué posaban en tan chocantes posturas? Y sobre todo, ¿qué había pasado para que todo aquello acabara tirado en la basura? Estas y otras preguntas son las que han obsesionado noche y día durante diez años al autor, quien ha escrito un misterioso, apasionado y trepidante relato que fusiona con naturalidad géneros literarios tan distintos como la crónica periodística, la biografía detectivesca, los diarios, la ficción y, por supuesto, la fotografía.
Diez años después de su publicación Los Modlin se ha convertido en un fenómeno editorial que culmina en esta edición, donde se incluyen nuevos capítulos finales que intentan cerrar el universo modliniano.

Photographer Paco Gómez’s life changed one spring afternoon in 2003 when he discovered a collection of extraordinary photographs on a street in Madrid’s Malasaña neighborhood. Who were the protagonists of those strange and disturbing images? Why were they posing in such shocking poses? And above all, what had happened so that all that ended up in the trash? These and other questions are those that have obsessed the author night and day for ten years. He has written a mysterious, passionate and thrilling story that naturally fuses literary genres as different as journalistic chronicles, detective biography, diaries, fiction and, of course, photography.
Ten years after its publication, «Los Modlin» has become a publishing phenomenon that culminates in this edition, which includes new final chapters that attempt to close the Modlinian universe.
