Tres piezas muestran la estructura visual de la experiencia lectora y hacen Triángulo.
El texto funciona como un potencial de efectos que solo se pueden sentir en el proceso de lectura. En ese territorio aparecen nuevos sentidos y se dibuja la figura de un triángulo: el texto, el lector y el deseo de lo que falta.
Componen el sobre de artista Triángulo:
Poemas constelados es un modo de lectura emocional que detecta y encierra en círculos con lápiz las palabras medulares del poema, constela esas palabras clave con aguja e hilo, y da paso a mapas geométricos donde aparece la figura del triángulo.
Tensar el texto es una página que ha sido llevada a la tensión máxima después de releerla. Este comportamiento en el límite del papel queda descrito en la forma visual que se origina. La página leída ha sido cortada simétricamente y, a través del hilo tensado, se ha revelado la figura del arco, segmento de un círculo.
Leer con las orejas es otro modo de leer donde el lector dobla la esquina de la página para subrayar que un texto le ha gustado. Este pliegue forma la figura de un triángulo y recuerda a la oreja de un perro que ha estado revolcándose en la tierra. Leer así pide un verbo: «dog-ear», y muestra a un lector que es capaz de ensuciar, de llenar de color y nuevas formas al libro, mostrando así la imagen de una lectura que ha dejado marca.
Three pieces reveal the visual structure of the reading experience and together form «Triangle».
The text functions as a potential for effects that can only be felt during the reading process. In that territory, new meanings emerge and the figure of a triangle is drawn: the text, the reader, and the desire for what is missing.
The artist’s envelope «Triangle» consists of:
«Poemas constelados» is an emotional mode of reading that detects and encloses the key words of a poem in pencil circles, constellates these key words with needle and thread, and then produces geometric maps where the triangle appears.
«Tensar el texto» is a page brought to its maximum tension after being reread. This extreme treatment of the paper is reflected in the visual form that emerges. The read page has been cut symmetrically, and through the stretched thread, the figure of an arc—a segment of a circle—is revealed.
«Leer con las orejas» is another way of reading, where the reader folds the corner of the page to mark that they liked a text. This fold forms a triangle shape and resembles a dog’s ear after rolling in the dirt. Reading this way requires a verb: «dog-ear», and shows a reader capable of marking, coloring, and shaping the book, thus revealing an image of reading that leaves a trace.
