Del latín commisura, de committere ‘juntar’ o ‘unir’, las comisuras son publicaciones en papel donde conviven varios lenguajes artísticos o donde, de alguna forma, la escritura rompe con las normas y los géneros.
En un mundo en el que las imágenes y las palabras cobran cada vez mayor protagonismo pero se consumen a un ritmo vertiginoso, creemos necesario fomentar la lectura atenta y el uso del arte como una herramienta crítica.
Comisura se compone de cuatro colecciones: Esto es un cuerpo, Diálogos, Archivo y miriñaque.
From the Latin commisura, from committere ‘to join’ or ‘to unite,’ comisuras are paper publications where multiple artistic languages coexist, or where, in some way, writing breaks with conventional rules and genres.
In a world where images and words are increasingly prominent but consumed at a dizzying pace, we consider it necessary to encourage attentive reading and the use of art as a critical tool.
Comisura is organized into four collections: Esto es un cuerpo, Diálogos, Archivo, and Miriñaque.

Una pareja se separa y subasta todos los objetos que han conformado su relación. Los objetos hablan por sí solos: entradas de cine, fotos, ropa, un trozo de pelo…
Como si Georges Perec se aliara con Sophie Calle, la escritora y artista visual canadiense Leanne Shapton construye un libro a través de las posesiones de una pareja: entradas de cine, innumerables libros prestados y anotados, mensajes manuscritos sobre cualquier superficie, fotografías y recuerdos de viajes, el menú de una cena, un mechón de pelo e incluso ese salero espantoso con forma de perro salchicha que fue un regalo de la suegra y jamás se utilizó. Tras la ruptura, todo ello se convierte en una serie de lotes numerados, con medidas exactas y breves descripciones que nos hablan entre líneas.
Artefactos importantes es el catálogo de una casa de subastas, pero también una historia de amor: conmovedora y fragmentaria, juguetona y nostálgica, contada a partir de fotografías de objetos, sus descripciones y algunas notitas manuscritas. Un libro que se lee con asombro mientras desciframos las múltiples pistas y referencias a fotógrafos como Duane Michals, Masahisa Fukase o Helmut Newton; a escritoras como Sheila Heti, quien hace de actriz, o los cameos de la propia Leanne Shapton, su autora.

As if Georges Perec collaborated with Sophie Calle, Canadian writer and visual artist Leanne Shapton constructs a book through the possessions of a couple: movie tickets, countless borrowed and annotated books, handwritten notes on any surface, photographs and travel memories, the menu from a dinner, a lock of hair, and even that awful dachshund-shaped salt shaker gifted by the mother-in-law that was never used. After the breakup, all of these items become numbered lots, with exact measurements and brief descriptions that speak between the lines.
«Artefactos Importantes» is both an auction house catalog and a love story: moving and fragmentary, playful and nostalgic, told through photographs of objects, their descriptions, and occasional handwritten notes. It’s a book to read in awe, deciphering the multiple hints and references to photographers like Duane Michals, Masahisa Fukase, or Helmut Newton; to writers like Sheila Heti, who acts in a cameo, and appearances by Shapton herself, the author.
